I've always heard people say you should not live in the past but for a poet it seems like there is no way to avoid it. We tend to write about things that affect us the most. There were good times and some very bad times in my life. Good or bad, when I read my poems the memories come flooding back as if it were yesterday. I don't know with any certainty what will happen in the next minute but I do know I am made up of what has happened in every previous minute- even up until a second ago. Therefore, I am living in the past as it continues to follow me just one second behind.

For now my blog will be telling a story through poetry written by me about my experiences while I married too young. Before some poems, I wrote a short paragraph or two as a description of how I was feeling and why. I know I'm not the first person to have this story but it set the course of my life in motion. At the age of 57 I still find myself seeking answers to questions I was never allowed to ask.

I invite you to read what I've written in the years gone by as well anything I am lucky enough to write in the years to come.  I hope what I write will resonate with your soul in some way.  If so, please feel free to leave any comments and share your own poetry or experiences as I continue to teach myself how to do this thing called a blog. Thank you very much for visiting my site.
